Preplanning

I'm home for spring break and on friday, as per usual, I get ready to plan out my next week. So I get my planner, go through my bag and then realize......I forgot all my planner stuff which means I can't plan this week and I can't plan the next week. Ugh I honestly was so upset, I texted my friend and boyfriend telling them both that I wanted to cry. I was obviously being a bit dramatic, but I was truly really upset because not only could I not plan, which really soothes me, but I also wouldn't be able to put up a weekly spread on here. So, I was sitting here crushed just thinking what can I do. My lovely boyfriend bought me a cute little journal and he was like do it on this, which I was all up for at first but at the same time, it's something new, so I would rather use it for a bit and do more of a review and be honest about how much I use it than to just do a small little post about it and not really knowing anything about it or how useful it is. So I kept thinking and I had a thought, a pre planning post. This one seems odd but I have seen a handful of planning youtubers so I assumed it was acceptable lol. So here we go.
First off, for pre-planning, I use a weekly layout sheet. I got mine as a part of a little booklet thing for Christmas so I don't know exactly where it's from but I know you could easily get one of these weekly layout calendars from Target, Office Depot, probably Staples and any stores like that. So I use this layout and write out anything I know for sure, like if Andrea and I plan on going to get boba or starbucks, if my roommates and I plan on going out anywhere, people's birthdays, appointments and anything big like that. So I use that weekly spread and then I bring out my syllabi for all of my classes so I know how many assignments, if any, I have and if I have any quizzes or midterms are coming up. I also bring out my weekly kit that I am using as well as whatever extra stickers I need such as washi, payday stickers, custom labels and anything and everything I might need.
So I sit down with those two and then set out the usual planner spread. For me, this means Today headers, To Do headers, heart checklists or ombre heart checkboxes in my Today sections, full boxes in my To Do sections, weekend banner and two half boxes on Saturday and Sunday and then my side bar which is Blog half box, Spent section and my shows listed somehow. So once that is done, I go in and write down the things I know won't change, which for me is my work permanent work schedule and classes. After that I put down whatever I will be using to write down my homework assignments which will vary depending on the number of assignments. But typically I will use little dots, or heart checklists, halfboxes, and appointment squares.
And that is it, that is typically about as much as I preplan and then the sidebar varies on what I feel is important that week, and then I fill out the rest of my To Do sections based on what comes up that day.

Hope you enjoyed.
Love,
Bee
