Spring Break in Palm Springs

This Spring Break, I had a few things planned but towards the end, Josh surprised me and asked me if I wanted to go with him and his family on a somewhat spontaneous trip to Palm Springs. His family from Colorado was staying in Palm Springs for a few days and so they wanted to go see them. They were also the last family members I had yet to meet. So of course I said yes. We went from Thursday morning until Friday midday.
This was I believe my second time in Palm Springs but the first time I don't think we went to like the downtown tourist area, we stayed at my dad's friend's house for a party. So the first day we get there and we just venture around downtown. It also just so happened that every Thursday there is a street festival so we got to go to that. It was honestly tons of fun. It wasn't super hot and humid but it was warm. During the festival as we were walking around it was kind of packed but it wasn't like omg people are crowding me in, there's no escaping.
We ate before really starting to walk around so sadly we didn't get to try any of the food the street vendors were selling but it all looked and smelled so good! There was a wide variety of food as well. And there were also a ton of different hand made items being sold. I wish I had taken pictures of the items I saw but again because it was packed, it was hard to stop and take pictures. I do remember though, one guy was selling paintings, well they weren't paintings but they were these big canvases that had designs or images created out of tons of colorful pieces of glass put together. They looked really nice but I remember there was one that was very sharp and poky, which was kinda scary.
It was a really fun environment to be around. I definitely would recommend Palm Springs, like the downtown area, as a nice place to go for a little getaway. And if you go, definitely try to go to the street festival!
After the street festival, we went back to the hotel and swam for about an hour or so. The pool was so nice. And the hotel we stayed at was also really nice, spacious, clean and not rowdy at all, like despite the fact that it was Spring Break, there was hardly any noise or partying in the hotel.
One of the things that I really liked about Palm Springs, that my boyfriend was just absolutely in love with, was the architecture. It was so cute and like vintage but none of it looked old or dated. Like there were chains, such as KFC and Bank of America and they looked so cool! It's hard to describe but it reminded me of the old movies, don't know the exact time line, but the movies were like crack dealers and the porn industry started to become big. OMG if any of you have seen 2 Fast 2 Furious, the house the cops stay at with like the little bridge, that's very much the style of Palm Springs.
After swimming though, the night was over *sad face*. We didn't do much but pack up and leave the next day but nevertheless, I loved every second of the trip. Oh, on the way back, we did also stop at the Shag Store. For those of you that don't know, like I didn't until we went, Shag is an artist so we went to his store to look at his pieces that were being sold. And we drove by Smoke Tree Ranch, which is/was Walt Disney's ranch. Although I had tons of fun, we didn't stay long so I do hope to go back one day and maybe stay longer.
This was more of a personal, diary type post so I do apologize if you didn't like it but I truly hope you did. I also just really wanted to archive this event into my vault lol. But now, for the pictures!

Again, I hope you enjoyed, see you next time! It'll be another Palm Springs post but this time, it'll be the food! YUM!!!
Love,
