Alfred's Coffee

So as a blogger, not only am I trying cool random food places, but I obviously also feel the need to go to the popular trendy locations. One of these trendy places is Alfred's coffee, the one I specifically went to was in Silver Lake.

I had never been here before so I Google mapped it and of course I knew it was coming up but as I got closer, I realized how awful the parking is. It is on a main street so there are really only like one or two spots directly in front of the shop, there's some across the street and around the corner but you're really on your own when it comes to parking. I tried making going into an alley and making a u, let's just say I ended going up a hill (oops). Finally I park around the corner, I cross the street and I go in.

The shop was a lot smaller than I anticipated. You walk in and you have some space but it's kind of a narrow rectangle so you walk in and see the cashier, turn to the left and see the famous neon sign and there are two tables with two chairs each, a fridge and that's it for the inside. You then have the choice of going outside onto the patio. But don't get too excited, it's not much bigger. You open the doors outwards onto the patio and they are basically hitting the tables and chairs, luckily no one was sitting there. There are few tables and chairs out there, maybe for like 10 people, but tightly crammed.

When I walked in, I ordered my iced chai and then afterwards ordered my mom a drink (and got a little bit of a coffee/espresso lesson) as I was going to pick her up from work right after my I got my drink.

Now the quality/taste of the drinks. My iced chai, omg, best chai I have ever had. I used to get them at Starbucks for a while but I don't really love thee cinnamony taste (like the harsh taste) so I would add a pump of vanilla but after a few times, they started to taste different. Now I don't know if any of you watch Carli Bybel or Nicole Guerrerio on YouTube but they both love the iced chai from Starbucks and both have said that the drinks are inconsistent. Which is understandable with a chain and having different people make it however they like, obviously not every drink will be the exact same. But still, the Starbucks one started to taste different and I didn't like it anymore after a few times so I moved on. But this one wasn't like that. It was the perfect combination of cinnamon and vanilla, it wasn't sweet but didn't taste like Red Hot Tamales candy either. I was honestly wishing I had ordered like 3 of their large.

My mom got an iced latte and she really liked her's. I can't speak too much about it because I really only had a small sip, I love the way coffee smells but I don't like the bitter taste. So I sampled it but didn't like how bitter it was, now for someone who much rather prefers a strong coffee taste over a very sweet flavor, I am sure you would thoroughly enjoy it.

Now will I be going back here? To grab an iced chai and go? Definitely! To sit there and chat while drinking one? Probably not. Will I be visiting more of their locations? I hope so! I want to see how they differ.

Again, this was the Silver Lake location and I highly recommend their iced chai.

Hope you enjoyed. And shout-out to you if you knew this was coming because of my little mishap with my planner.

Love,

Bee
