Move Out Weekend
We're doing another little personal/memory post but don't worry, I will be posting about the food we ate lol so let's get into it.
Wednesday afternoon was my last final so I went, did what I had to do, bought myself a celebratory chicken sandwich (lol) and then relaxed a bit before really starting to kind of pack up. So I did a bit of packing that night but I had all of Thursday to pack as well, besides work from 5-9:30 but besides that packing up was all I had to do. I packed some on Wednesday but also relaxed and then I woke up kinda early on Thursday, washed my clothes and was packing. I did a good amount of it done a little before I went into work. I went to work, got some desserts and then went back to packing, I don't know if I've mentioned it or if you guys have caught on but I do go to school a ways away from where I live. So after freshmen year, my dad was like you have too much stuff to be carrying back and forth, and realistically I only use my clothes and shoes and maybe a few other little things, so he decided we would just leave all my stuff I don't need in storage and then bring home only what comfortably fits in the car. So after work I started to take my stuff out of my room and into the living room, so it was easier to take out, and I separated the storage stuff from my bring home stuff. While I was doing that my dad let me know that him and my uncle were headed in my direction to pick me up! EXCITING!!!
I finished my packing, all that I was left with were my bed-sheets, my blanket, my computer and my chargers. My dad and uncle got there and I welcomed them, we talked for a bit but they were obviously tired from work and the drive plus we needed to wake up early to get our uhaul so we went to bed kind of early.
The next morning we woke up, went and got the uhaul and then came back onto campus and pulled up right next to my house. So the plan was to put all the storage stuff in the uhaul and put all my take home stuff in the car already. Now we did this mainly to save time and hassle, last year was my first time doing storage and all we had was the rental car so we ended up needing to do two trips which was kind of a headache. But this time we were obviously better prepared. We got the uhaul, packed up both cars and then drove to the storage, unpacked all that stuff, returned the uhaul and then headed to breakfast/lunch. We went to eat and I guess I was so hungry that I didn't take a picture :(. But we had Woodstock's Pizza, the meat lovers X-Large and that was good enough for two grown men, me and there were leftovers. We sat outside and just talked , as well as people watched lol and then we headed to our hotel.
We actually didn't have a hotel booked but we needed to find one, obviously, But because it was move out weekend and graduation weekend a lot of hotels were booked or too much. So we searched the city, kind of, mainly my dad called a few places to ask for their prices but the first hotel we went to, a Best Western. We walked in, asked if they had anything available and he said we do thanks to a cancellation and the price right now is $so so but when the cancelled party got it, they got it for $(insert cheaper amount) so how about you get the second price? We were ecstatic, told him yes, got out room keys and went on our merry way walking through this very pretty hotel. We got there and fell asleep for a bit considering we had spent the whole morning moving stuff around, loading and unloading, plus we didn't get much sleep the night before. So we slept for a bit in our air conditioned room and that night was game 6 of the NBA finals, which we were all excited to watch, so we took a little nap and then headed out to find a good place to watch the game.
We searched around and thought about it, looked up places and we found an irish pub called Rosie McCann's Irish Pub & Restaurant. They had the whole back area set up with couches and like 6 tv's. So we went there and just ordered a few appetizers as our dinner. I ordered the irish nachos, my uncle ordered some sliders and my dad ordered wings. And don't worry, this time I got a picture lol. The food was all really good! The sliders did get a little cold kind of quickly and they came plain so you had to make sure to add your own dressings or else the burger was a little plain. The wings were really good, the sauce was great! But for me, the Irish nachos were the absolute best! There was a good amount and I definitely got full but even maybe adding some chicken or steak, ohh that would'e been good!!! We watched the game and enjoyed the good food, the amazing crowd that was all there watching the game and it was just fun.

After we ate we just went back to the hotel and chilled. We had some chips, watched some tv, and just relaxed. It was really nice considering how busy the quarter was, how busy the past week had been and just how busy life is lol.
The next morning, we woke up, packed up the few things we had, got ready, got dressed and headed out for breakfast. We searched on Yelp and we found this place Avenue Cafe. On the reviews people had raved about their pigs in a blanket and I had been craving some (lol) so I ordered them. And omg, were they good!! With some syrup and the butter, the powered sugar and the sausage, it was all just put together very nicely! The place was kind of small but it wasn't uncomfortable, people were turning out somewhat fast so you didn't have to wait super long and the waiters were very friendly, approachable and checked up on you. My dad got a scramble, the santa cruz mess, and that was pretty good too, he loved it, ate it all up. My uncle just had coffee but he seemed to enjoy it lol. They also had flan which I wanted to so badly try but I was too full so maybe next time.

We headed on the road after that nice breakfast, the drive was nice, plus I always get In N Out haha so I thoroughly enjoy it. We did hit a bit of traffic once we got closer to home but it didn't even matter that much because I was finally home!
And there we have it, I am home and had a good little move out weekend. Hope you enjoyed this type of post. See ya Saturday!
