SF with Cruz
This weekend will be somewhat hard to write about, you'll find out why as you read along but nonetheless, I hope you enjoy.
I mentioned in my life update that Josh's brother cat passed away on October 4th. That week was a hard week, not only was my boyfriend dealing with this loss back home, but I was torn because I couldn't be there for him (physically anyways) and because I too was mourning his loss. So I decided to head to SF to visit Cruz as my getaway weekend. I decided to go from around Friday afternoon until Sunday morning or so. And here is a recap of what we did.
On Friday, my lovely friend drove all the way to pick me up and then drive us both back to SF. We headed back and just chatted, caught up with all that had been happening (even though we basically knew everything since we have been texting everyday lol) but it was nice, it was fun, I needed it. So she picked me up, we headed up and then we stopped at Chipotle because we both wanted to try the chorizo. I got a chorizo quesorito which was delicious, so unbelievably filling and Cruz got a chorizo bowl. SOOOOO good. While there we acquired a very rude man who was being just unbelievably hostile towards the workers and I quickly just want to remind you, be nice to everyone but especially people in the customer service business and especially food service. It is a hard job but places like Chipotle show their workers how to ensure you have a great experience and maintain a positive attitude, even when this man was rudely asking the worker if he knew how to roll a burrito (as if that wasn't his job) the worker remained calm and responded nicely and simply did as the customer requested. So we ordered, ate, were super full and we then went to Target, because we love target and will go with or without the need for items. Cruz went in with the idea that she need kitty litter and mascara, I needed nothing really but wanted a little make up mirror for my desk. Cruz bought her kitty litter, mascara and something else, I bought my mirror, but we both also walked away with matching white iPad minis lol. Classic us! It also became a big ordeal because Cruz bought a black thinking white was sold out, I thought about it and then asked for a white one, they found a white one for me, but then Cruz wanted a white one, we tried to exchange her black one for the white and buy mine but then found out they were about to ring up the wrong gb iPad, were scared we were going to be left needing to buy one black and one white but finally ended up with two white iPads haha. It was a mouthful so sorry if you got lost reading that, basically, we both got white iPads after a bit of work. Haha from there we went back to her place and got ready for a fun night. We went and got dollar margaritas and had a good night haha. Except for, we found out I am allergic to her cat, so I was dying.
On Saturday we woke up, got ready and headed out for a day of adventure/studying. We headed out to eat pupusas, we went to Reina's Pupusas, it was good but the service was pretty slow. But regardless, I would definitely go back, the pupusas tasted good but so did the rice and beans, like so good, and I don't really like/eat beans. I got a pupusa plate, Cruz got the two pupusas, just the pupusas and she liked her's, but she already knew what she was in for since she had been there before lol. While at breakfast, through a trail of phone calls, I got news that my Grandpa was in the hospital and this was hard to deal with, but thankfully I was with one of my best friends who was able to comfort me. And with that, I was also in denial/based on prior hospital visits, I truly believed my Grandpa would end up leaving after a few days and head back home to continue his daily schedule. But I expressed myself to Cruz, told her that I knew my grandpa would be fine and we continued our day. We then headed to Land's End where we partially hiked, despite Cruz's word that she didn't want to hike so therefore we would do the easy route. But it's fine, the view was really pretty and I really enjoyed it, got some pretty pictures out of it. After this we headed back to her place, kinda showered and got reread and then headed to Dolores Park. Super pretty this park, especially when we went, the sun was so beautifully shining and you can just see so much of the city, its insane. And I mean insane like I was staring at it, have pictures and still don't believe that was the view. While at Dolores, the goal was to study and do some hw, not to much of our surprise, I did some notes but that was it lol. Cruz honestly, I think she just sat there on her phone/admiring the view and people watching. We were there for about an hour or so, btw, when we got there it honestly took her so long to park haha she created so much traffic both in her lane and in the lane going the opposite way, it was super funny. So we "studied" and then we went to eat pho, which I don't have a picture of, I am sorry I was just hungry. She had pho and I had some sort of like pad Thai. We then got TPumps, which was good! The jumbo size is ridiculous and it required some work ordering but I think it's because I was new to the game, After a long day we just headed to her place and watched some Hulu while snacking, we also saw the Amanda Knox documentary which was really interesting. After that we called it a night.

On Sunday I thought I was going to be leaving early in the morning but, if I waited until late afternoon, Cruz agreed to drop me off about halfway and then my friend Salim would drive with me the rest of the way, because he goes home every weekend to work. So all of a sudden my plans changed from going back early morning to leaving SF like at 5 or 6 pm lol. All of a sudden Cruz felt the pressure to entertain me for another like 8 hours, jk there was no pressure. But with this new set of free time we had, we decided to go get breakfast and then go study, because we both had been procrastinating and now really needed to do it. So we got out of bed, got ready, I packed my things and we headed out. We went to Home of Chicken & Waffles, I don't remember what either of us ordered but Cruz's plate was definitely better than mine. The food was good though, buffalo sauce was mediocre. The strawberry lemonade was DELICIOUS!! After that we headed to Sephora because Cruz was buying her first brow product, the lady there was nice and complimented our eyebrows and how they naturally were :). After she bought her product and filled them in, we went to the beach! It was a nice beach, it was super hot that day though and neither was of us was super prepared for how hot it was or to be at the beach, even though we had planned out where we were going lol. We were there maybe for about an hour, before we both were just burning up and decided to leave. We then went to the library at her school, it was cool experiencing another library lol. Plus, I had always been curious as to what my friend's school looked like haha, now I finally know! I had fun, we both finally got some work done. Oh, also we got Quickly boba before going to the library, it was good. By this time, after a little hw sesh, it was about 5:30 or so, and we decided it would be best if we headed out. We got in the car and headed back in my direction. She dropped me off where my friend works, we said our goodbyes and then she headed back to SF. I then found my friend and we headed back to school.

It was a super fun weekend, I really missed my friend and as I think I said earlier, I had never visited her in all 4 years so I am glad I was finally able to. I hope you enjoyed reading about our adventures again and I will see you all on Tuesday.
Love,
Bee
